The All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully conducted its ward and Local Government Area (LGA) congresses across the 147 political wards and 14 local government areas of Zamfara State, with party executives emerging through consensus.
The congresses were held peacefully and were described as well-coordinated, reflecting wide participation by party stakeholders and members across the state.
Addressing journalists in Gusau, the Chairman of the Congresses Committee, Babande Babakura Imam, said the exercise was conducted successfully without any hitches.
Imam noted that the ward and LGA congresses recorded impressive turnout and that all executives emerged through sincere consensus and affirmation by party members.
“The congresses were monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies, party officials from the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, as well as state APC representatives,” he said.
According to him, the local government congresses produced APC executives in all 14 LGAs, including chairmen, secretaries, and other officers.
Also speaking, the Zamfara State APC Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, described the successful conduct of the congresses as a welcome development for the party.
Danfulani commended the congress committee for adhering strictly to party guidelines in overseeing the exercise across the state, stressing that the APC remains committed to transparency and inclusiveness.
“This successful congress has strengthened unity and internal harmony within the party,” he said.
The party chairman expressed optimism that the APC remains united ahead of future electoral contests in the state, adding that the emergence of new executives has further energized party structures.
“This development is an indication that the APC is well positioned to reclaim its mandate in Zamfara and work towards the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections,” Danfulani added.
He also expressed satisfaction with the high level of participation by party members and the orderly conduct of the congresses across the state.
