Riyom Old Students Association (ROSA) “96 set has donated instructional materials and food items worth millions of naira to the school.
The donation, consisting of 270 school bags, 2000 notebooks, 2000 biros, 13 cartons of sanitary pads each contained 24 pieces, brooms, 5kg of 200 bags of Gari with 1kg of sugar each and other learning supplies, including cash donations reflects the Association’s commitment to promoting education to their alma-mater.
Chairperson of the Association Mrs. Augustina Christopher, presented the gifts to the principal of the school on Thursday, at the school premises in Riyom, Riyom local government area of Plateau state.
She explained that the objectives of the gesture were primarily to promote education, support underprivileged students and provide them with basic learning materials that would ease their academic pursuits.
Christopher emphasized that ROSA “set 96” remains committed to impacting lives, promoting welfare and facilitating lasting solutions to some pressing issues, particularly in education of it alma- mater.
She pledged to give all the necessary support for the growth and development of the school.
“We believe that these materials will be of great benefit to the school and its students, we are proud to be able to give back to our alma-mater in this way and looking forward to continuing to support education of future generations.
Other alumni, including Mr. Emmanuel Okpe, a philanthropist and the founder of Greenline Relief and Care foundation emphasized that the importance of education for every child can never be overemphasized, calling it the most valuable investment for any family or society.
He urged every privileged or well to do individual to always assist the needy around them in any way they can, emphasizing that such acts attract divine blessings.
Okpe encouraged the students to stay dedicated and focused, advised them to love and respect one another and never look down on anyone. Even as he urged the students to be of good character and experience.
He said education remains the foundation of society growth, and investing in children’s education today guarantees a brighter future for the community and the nation at large.
In his remarks the principal of the school Mr. Peter Danladi , represented by the vice Principal Academic Mr. Gideon Sunday Gyang, expressed gratitude to the alumni for the gesture, promising to use the materials donated to them judiciously.
He urged members of the society to emulate the alumni of ROSA “set 96″ for what they have done. Noting that ” At this critical moment when government alone cannot provide all the necessary materials to its schools.
The head girl Chuwang Nerat Gyang, praised the alumni and highlighted the significance of such contributions to educational development.
