The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, has launched the distribution of school uniforms to over 9,000 primary one pupils in public primary schools across the local government area.
The launch ceremony took place at the Conference Hall of the Islamic Propagation Centre in Tarauni.
Speaking at the event, Sekure said the initiative was part of the Kano State Government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
He explained that the distribution of uniforms was aimed at supporting young pupils and providing them with a strong foundation for quality learning at the basic education level.
According to the Local Government Information Officer, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, the chairman reiterated that investment in education remains a top priority of the state government.
He noted that the programme aligns with the vision of the Commissioner for Education, Malam Ali Haruna Makoda, and the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), under the leadership of Malam Yusuf Kabir, to ensure access to quality education for all children.
The chairman also urged parents and guardians to continue encouraging their children to pursue education at all levels, describing education as a key tool for protecting young people from the challenges of modern societal vices.
In his remarks, the Education Secretary of Tarauni Local Government, Comrade Bashir Muhammad Karkasara, pledged full commitment to the implementation of all education programmes introduced by the state government.
