The Kwara State Government says it will continued its drive towards the actualisation of a sustainable renewable energy project to boost socio-economic development across the State.

The State Commissioner for Energy, AbdulAzeez AbdulGaniy, made the disclosure during a technical inspection and courtesy visit to the Elerin of Erin-Ile, Oba Jimoh Adesoye- Adetona , at his private residence in Ilorin.
He explained that the inspection exercise is part of the State Government’s strategic efforts to identify technically and environmentally suitable locations for the deployment of solar energy infrastructure.

Abdulganiy said the initiative is aimed at improving electricity supply, stimulating economic activities, and enhancing the overall quality of life of residents.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to the development of clean, reliable, and affordable energy solutions as a key driver of socio-economic development in the State.
He added that “this inspection forms part of a broader assessment of multiple locations across the State to ensure equitable distribution of the benefits of the renewable energy project and to guarantee its long-term sustainability”.
In his response, the Elerin of Erin-Ile, Oba Jimoh Adesoye Adetona , commended the State Government for prioritising renewable energy development and described electricity as fundamental to community growth and economic advancement.
He assured the state government of full cooperation and support for the successful implementation of the project.
Members of the Commissioner’s entourage included the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy, Mr. Olaitan Afolabi; Acting Director, Electrical Engineering, Engr. Fisayo Dada; Assistant Director, Electrical Engineering, Engr. Nurudeen Alao; and other technical officers of the Ministry.
