The Kaduna State Government has announced that Human Capital Development will receive greater emphasis in the proposed 2026 fiscal plan.
The Commissioner for Planning and Budget, Alhaji Mukhtar Ahmed Monrovia, disclosed this shortly after presenting and defending the ministry’s budget proposal before the House Committee on Budget.
According to him, the 2026 budget places strong focus on key sectors including health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure, in line with the government’s commitment to meeting the needs and aspirations of residents across the state.

He further revealed that the Ward Development Projects will receive top priority, with each of the 255 wards expected to benefit from projects valued at ₦100 million in the coming year.
Also appearing before the committee were the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics and the Kaduna State Residents Registration Agency, which defended their budget proposals centred on strengthening data collection and resident registration systems to support effective planning and development.
In his remarks, Chairman of the House Committee on Planning and Budget, Mr. Peter Agite, assured that the Assembly remain committed to thoroughly reviewing and harmonising the budget to ensure its timely passage and early implementation.
