Nasarawa State Government has donated a fully finished office complex to facilitate the smooth takeoff of the North Central Development Commission NCDC in lafia, the state capital.
During the handover ceremony of the complex Governor Abdullahi Sule said that the structure was to show their commitment to ensuring that the commission takes off smoothly.

The Governor explained that the event was historic due to the realization of the commencement of the operations of the much-awaited North Central Development Commission NCDC.
He said the state would offer the board members and management of the commission temporary housing accommodations to quickly settle and commence operation.
The Governor appreciated President Bola Tinubu for establishing the commission and thanks members of the national assembly for ensuring that the law for creating the commission was passed in both the chambers.
He also thanked his colleagues, governors from the North-Central Zone, for coming together to ensure that the take-off of the commission is as smooth as possible.
“All the governors and members of the National Assembly from the north central zone will meet with you in Abuja on Thursday, 18, to see how we can all support you with logistics for a smooth take off.
“We want to work together and own the commission collectively to avoid any faction as witnessed in other places,” the Gov. added……
In his remarks, Chairman of the commission, Mr. Cosmas Akighir, appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for the donation of the office complex as their headquarters.
The Chairman said that the office was befitting as well as fully finished with facilities and water for their comfort and that of their staff.
He, however, appealed that the commission would need some vehicles for their operational efficiency as they are still grappling with an annual budget.
Similarly, The Managing Director of the NCDC, Dr Cyril Tsenyil, said that the gesture justified why some persons were happy when the headquarters of the commission was cited in lafia, the nasarawa state capital by the president.
“Today, you have proven that, indeed, a decision was not misplaced through your efforts to ensure that we hit the ground running without any challenges.
“Apart from giving us a temporary office facility to use as a licensing office in Abuja, you have today fulfilled your promise to hand over to us a fully furnished office complex which will serve as the headquarters of NCDC.
“The history of NCDC will never be complete without you, and we are highly indebted to you.
“As we settle down to business, I want to assure you that we will collaborate with all governors and other stakeholders in the zone to improve the infrastructure and living conditions of our people.
The Managing Director also appreciated the president for the confidence reposed in them and promised to discharge their duties with the fear of God to complement the developmental gaps in the zone.
He also joined the chairman of the commission and appealed for the allocation of land, vehicles, among others, to function smoothly.
