A non-governmental organization, AMA Foundation, in collaboration with the Federal Government College (FGC) Kaduna, has continued to enhance access to quality education for orphans in Kaduna State.
Through the partnership, orphans who complete their primary education at Hauwa’u Memorial School, established by AMA Foundation in Tudun Wada, Kaduna, are given direct opportunities to gain admission into FGC Kaduna.
Speaking during the school’s Annual Speech and Prize-Giving Ceremony, the Headteacher of Hauwa’u Memorial School, Nasir Musa, who represented AMA Foundation, said the foundation is currently sponsoring 120 orphans in its primary school, another 120 in FGC Kaduna, while 16 students have gained admission into Kaduna State University (KASU).
He commended the Founder of AMA Foundation, Alhaji Musa Bello, for establishing the initiative to cater exclusively for orphans, noting that the support would help them realize their dreams.
The Principal of FGC Kaduna, Prince Adewale Adeyanju, also lauded AMA Foundation for sponsoring orphans from primary to university level, describing it as “one of the best contributions anyone can make to society.”
He revealed that all the sponsored final-year students graduated with excellent results, qualifying them for admission into universities across the world.
Similarly, representing the Chief Medical Director of the Eye Centre, Kaduna, Dr. Amina Hassan, Dr. Sadiq Muhammad expressed satisfaction with the quality of education given to the children, stressing that “the sky will be their limit.”
He also appealed to other wealthy individuals to emulate AMA Foundation’s gesture.
The Head Boy, Ibrahim Usman Waziri, and the Head Girl, Hafsat Adam Waziri, expressed happiness for being among the graduating students and advised parents to ensure their children acquire both Islamic and Western education.
Parents and guardians of some graduates, including Asmau Ahmed and Sabi Yusuf, mother and uncle respectively, thanked AMA Foundation for the life-changing opportunities given to their children.
During the book launch held at the event, the Executive Director, Aisha Yusuf Mamman, who was unavoidably absent but sent her goodwill message while the Assistant Executive Director of the foundation, Fatima Bala Jafar, announced a donation of ₦50,000.
