His eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared tomorrow the 26th of July 2025 as the first day of Safar 1447AH, Islamic calendar.
This is in a statement signed by the chairman Advisory Committee on religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu.
The statement cites that the Monthly Observation of the moon, clarifies the Islamic Calendar within a given year, thereby making the month of Ramadan moon sightings more acceptable to the general Muslims in the Country.
