Director General, National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Brigadier – General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu has called on Corps Employers, who compliment the scheme to remain committed in performing their roles.

The Director General made the call at the Twenty twenty-five Edition of the ‘Corps Employers Workshop’ held at the Temporary Orientation Camp in Kaduna.

Brig. Gen. Nafiu who was represented by Director, North-West Area of the scheme, Mrs. Florence Yaakugh cautioned corps employers to take the safety, welfare and supervision of Corps members as top priority.

He emphasized that negligence on their part encourages:

Inability to account for corps members’ whereabouts, increase truancy, rampant evasion, and disloyalty among corps members which leads to lack of productivity at the work place.

General Nafiu further encouraged participants to make individual and collective contributions that would:

– Build proactive and enduring partnership between the scheme and Corps Employers.

– implement solutions to challenges facing corps administration

– And come up with communique that would enhance the productivity of corps members among others.

In a presentation at the workshop by NYSC Director, North-West Area, Mrs. Florence Yaakugh, read by the State Coordinator, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza emphasized that the aim of the workshop is to provide necessary tools and practical steps to mentor corps members to achieve national development.

She also reiterates that only the State Coordinator reserve the power to permit corps members when they have to travel outside the state.

The theme of the workshop which holds simultaneously in all the States and FCT is ‘The Place Of Emotional Intelligence In Managing Corps Members At Workplace For Maximum Productivity ‘.
