Kaduna Government Debunks Rumour On Sale Of Yusuf Dantsoho Primary Schoo

The Kaduna State Government has denied speculations circulating on social media suggesting a plan to sell Yusuf Dantsoho Primary School located at Unguwar Rimi GRA.

 

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Maman Lagos, made this known during a working visit to the school.

 

Yusuf Dantsoho Primary School, established in 1920, is situated in the heart of Unguwar Rimi GRA and has produced many notable Nigerians who have served and are still serving in various capacities.

 

Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Mamman Lagos assured that the Kaduna State Government has no intention of selling any public institution such as schools or hospitals. Instead, he said the government is committed to improving and expanding such facilities to better serve the people.

 

Mamman Lagos challenged those claiming to have bought the school to come forward with documents to prove their claim, he said Governor Uba Sani’s administration will never sell public schools.

 

He also called on parents and residents to remain calm and ignore unfounded rumours.

 

In his remarks, the Chairman of Kaduna North Local Government, Muhammad Gambo reaffirmed that Yusuf Dantsoho Primary School remains under the management of the local government council.

 

A key stakeholder of the school, Abubakar Kantoma, revealed that some developers had attempted to begin construction on the school premises, but were asked to stop due to unclear circumstances.

 

Radio Nigeria also spoke with some pupils of the school who expressed concern over the rumours.

 

The school was officially closed for the end-of-term break at the time of the visit.
