The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected Hon. Kamilu Sa’idu (Wamban Kasuwar Daji) as its candidate for the upcoming Kaura Namoda South State Constituency bye-election, scheduled for 16th August 2025.
According to a statement issued by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau, Kamilu emerged unopposed after three other aspirants—Bashir Muhammad Madaro (Walin Kurya), Anas S/Fada, and Alhaji Ashiru Hamisu Habibu—voluntarily withdrew from the race during the party’s primary election held at Kasuwar Daji Primary School.

The statement said the aspirants stepped down in support of Kamilu and pledged their full support toward his victory and that of the party.
Thirty delegates drawn from the six wards of the constituency—Kagara, Dan-Isa, Sakajiki, Kurya, Kyambarawa, and Banga—unanimously affirmed Kamilu’s candidacy.
The primary election was supervised by the APC National Primary Election Committee led by Barrister Babande B. Imam, who declared Kamilu Sa’idu as the party’s flagbearer after confirming his endorsement by the delegates.

Barrister Imam noted that Kamilu met all the constitutional requirements of the APC and was affirmed in the presence of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Isah.
Chairman of the Appeal Committee, Isah Halilu Ahmad, opened the floor for any objections, but none were raised. Both aspirants and delegates expressed satisfaction with the process, which was described as peaceful, free, and fair.

The exercise was witnessed by key party stakeholders, including Zamfara APC Chairman Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, Secretary Hon. Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, Deputy Chairman Alh. Hassan Marafa Damri, among others.
Security personnel and INEC officials were also present to monitor the primary.
