The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) has thrown his weight behind the upcoming National Convention of the Government Secondary School Ogbomoso Old Boys Association (GSSOOBA), officially endorsing the event and pledging to attend in person.

The endorsement followed a successful courtesy visit by the GSSOOBA National Executive Council to the SGF on April 16, 2025, where the delegation received a warm reception and a firm assurance of federal support for the convention.

In a statement signed by the Association’s National Public Relations Officer, Chief Emmanuel Ogwiji, the SGF’s endorsement was described as a major milestone that underscores the national significance of the event.

The Abuja National Convention is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, and preparations are already in top gear. Committees handling various aspects of the event have been urged to sustain their momentum and diligently execute their responsibilities to ensure a successful gathering.

All alumni of GSS Ogbomoso, both within and outside Nigeria, are encouraged to actively prepare and participate in what promises to be a landmark reunion.

Further updates on the convention will be communicated in due course.
