The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman, has presented the state’s official position at the Zonal Public Hearing on the Review of the 1999 Constitution.
The hearing, held at the General Hassan Katsina House in Kaduna, is part of the nationwide constitutional review exercise by the House of Representatives.
Centre “A” of the public hearing covers Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa States. It attracted key stakeholders including political leaders, traditional rulers, and civil society organizations.

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, was represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe.
Other dignitaries included the Deputy Governor of Kano State, the Speaker of Jigawa State House of Assembly, and the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Madaki.

Royal fathers such as the Emir of Zazzau, His Highness Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, and the Emir of Hadejia, His Highness Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, were also present.
Speaker Liman highlighted key constitutional issues affecting Kaduna State, stressing the need for reforms that reflect current realities and ensure fairness, good governance, and national unity.
He reiterated Kaduna State’s commitment to an inclusive and forward-looking constitution that promotes justice and democratic consolidation.

The zonal hearing serves as a platform for citizens and stakeholders to submit memoranda and express opinions on national concerns, in a bid to make the constitutional review process more participatory.
The Speaker commended the initiative and urged all stakeholders to remain engaged for the success of the constitutional reform effort.
