Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recorded further operational successes in Zamfara State, foiling separate abduction attempts, rescuing civilians and neutralising an Improvised Explosive Device, IED, planted by terrorists.
The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement.
He explained that troops of Sector 2 responded to an abduction incident along the Gurusu–Anka Road and swiftly pursued the terrorists, forcing them to abandon their captives and flee.
According to him, seven victims, comprising four women and three children, were rescued unharmed.

In a separate operation in Tsafe Local Government Area, Lieutenant Colonel Danja said troops responded to reports of terrorists attempting to abduct motorists around Magazu Village.

He maintained that the troops engaged the terrorists, forcing them to abandon their victims and escape into the surrounding bushes, adding that the rescued victims and some of whom sustained gunshot wounds during the incident, were immediately evacuated to a medical facility for treatment.
The Media Information Officer further disclosed that earlier the troops of Sector 2 responded to the discovery of a terrorist-planted IED along the Gurusu–Gwashi Road in Bukkuyum Local Government Area.
