Zamfara State Government has launched various initiatives aimed at uplifting women across multiple sectors to enhance their economic and social empowerment.
Deputy Governor Mani Malam Mummuni made this known at the North-West Nigeria Scale-Up Summit for the Women Project, themed “Empowering Her: Advancing Women’s Economic and Employment Opportunities Through Regional Collaboration.
According to the Deputy Governor, the initiatives introduced by the state government are already yielding positive results among the beneficiaries, contributing to the overall well-being of women in the state.
He commended the Governors of the North-West region for their collective efforts to strengthening women empowerment in Northern Nigeria.
The deputy governor also expressed appreciation to the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, and the World Bank for initiating and supporting such a transformative project for the benefit of Arewa women.
According to a statement by the Press Secretary to the Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Shehu Adamu Gusau, the summit was attended by World Bank Country Director, Mr. Mathew Verghis; Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim; Katsina State Governor and host, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda; Deputy Governors of Jigawa and Zamfara States; and Commissioners of Women Affairs from North-Western states, among other key stakeholders.
