Federal Government has once again been urged to uphold the fear of God, transparency, and accountability in fiscal management, as expected in a democratic system.

The National President of the FRCN Pensioners’ Union, Alhaji Ahmad Ibrahim Jikamshi, renewed the appeal in response to threats by retired workers to occupy the Ministry of Finance next week if their accumulated benefits are not paid as earlier promised.

Alhaji Ahmad Jikamshi reminded the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD of agreement reached with pensioners leaders to settle such debt this month which should not be compromised for ulterior motives.

He stressed the need for the senior citizens to show anger over the issue as done by the military retirees to ensure payment of their entitlements in the interest of justice and fairness.

The FRCN Pensioners’ Union President noted recent visit by the Executive Secretary of PTAD Tolulope Odunaiya to the office of the Accountant General of the Federation Babatude Ogunjimi which failed to guarantee settlement of the arrears described as unfortunate.
