Jigawa State Farmers and Herdsmen Conflict Resolution Committee has called on local government councils to intensify efforts in preventing encroachment into grazing lands, cattle routes, and demarcated road reserves to ensure peace and stability between farmers and herders in their respective areas.

The Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Salisu Abdullahi Dan Malikin Ringim, made the call during a familiarization tour of Auyo and Kafin Hausa Local Government Areas.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to protect the lives and properties of its citizens especially farmers and herdsmen by ensuring cordial relationship between the two parties.

Dr Salisu Abdullah who the Executive Secretary of the board, pointed out that, Governor Umar Namadi has initiated various programmes to support farmers and herders to engage in agribusinesses for self reliance and socioeconomic prosperity.

In their remarks, the Chairman of Auyo local government council Malam Binyaminu Kafur and of Kafin Hausa Malam Abdullahi Nalayi expressed their commitment to support the farmers and herders conflict resolution committee in it’s effort to maintain peaceful coexistence among farmers and Herdsmen in their respective areas.
