Trade Fair: KADCCIMA Reiterates Commitment To Reposition Economy

Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, KADCCIMA says it is committed to the growth and development of the country through dialogue and conversation with a view to repositioning critical sectors of the Economy for greater performance.

President of KADCCIMA, Suleiman Aliyu stated this during the exhibition and Special Day program of an agro-allied company at the 44th Kaduna International Trade fair in Kaduna.

The President, represented by the Council member of KADCCIMA, Mr. Muhammed Abdulsalam explained that the importance of trade fairs and exhibition in promoting accelerated and inclusive economic growth and development through medium Small and Micro Enterprises, MSMEs as the engine of development cannot be over- emphasized.

He said, the 44th Kaduna International Trade fair with the theme “Promoting Value Addition For Sustainable Growth and Development was a deliberate demostration of its commitment toward enhancing the performance of the business sub-sectors, as well as focused attention on the critical economic game changer.

Suleiman Aliyu pointed out that, the theme was intended with the initiative of the Federal Government of promoting growth and development for medium and Small scale industries within the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, which was also, a pillar of support for the Nation’s accelerated economic growth and development.

The KADCCIMA President regretted that, despite the abundance of solid materials, agricultural commodities and raw materials, the nation had continued to loose billions of dollars on the account of lack of value addition ranging from production, processing, packaging and export, hence the carefully selected theme to consolidate on its potentials.

He posited that, as partner and active player in the agricultural sector, there’s hope that, it would play key role in the area of value addition, as he stressed the need for partnership to promote competitiveness of the nation in the global market arena via aggressive value chain development.

On his part, regional manager of an agro-allied company in the north, Mr. George Uche said the company has the mission of redirecting the agronomy and livestock industry from the unproductive tradition of wait-and- treat approach to livestock and crop production, with lesser cost of production through a conscious agronomy solutions and pharmaco-vigilance approach in livestock production.
