The deceased 12-year old Yusuf Abubakar who was shot dead by his brother ,while testing the efficacy of a gunshot charm in Kiama local government area of Kwara state-by-ALI MUHAMMAD RABIU

Kwara state Police Command has confirm the killing of a twelve year old Yusuf Abubakar by his elder brother while testing the efficacy of a newly procured gunshot protective charm in Kiama local government area of the state.

A statement by the Command’s spokesman Okasanmi Ajayi in Ilorin said on 2nd of October, a report was recieved at Kaiama police station about the killing of one Yusuf Abubakar by his elder brother Abubakar Abubakar.

According to the statement, both the deceased and brother are children of one Abubakar Abubakar a hunter in Dutse Gogo town in Kaiama.

The statement explains that the incident occurred during the process of testing the efficacy of newly procured gunshot protective charm by the two brothers.

The statement notes that after the children had fortified themselves with the protective charm, the elder son brought his father’s dane gun and shot his younger sibling, adding that the charm failed and the 12year old Yusuf Abubakar died on the spot.

The statement advises parents and guardian to monitor the activities of their children and avoid doing certain unsavory activities while their children watches, to prevent incidents of this nature.
