To curtail the menace of drug abuse and other social vices , Youth Against Drug Abuse Foundation (YADAF) has sponsored over three hundred out of school children in kano back to primary and secondary schools.

Speaking during the distribution of teaching and learning materials to the pupils, the chairperson of the Foundation Hajiya Fatima Bature (Jikan Dan’uwa) said the objective of the gesture was to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state and to curtail drug abuse among children and youths.

She said YADAF is a non-profit organization that was geared toward the revitalization of drug addicts and enrolling them back to school.

” the foundation has a training acquisition center which we use in training revived drug addicts different skills and traits so that they will become self-employed and employers of labor”

She maintained that the source of funds for the activities of the foundation was from personal donations.

” All these 347 revived addicts have been provided with School fees, school bags, textbooks, writing books, and other necessary reading and learning materials “

Hajiya Fatima Bature appealed to other stakeholders to key into the venture of supporting the less privilege so that they can acquire both western and islamic education aimed at having a decent society.

In his remark, the chairman of the state universal primary education board SUBEB Alhaji Danlami Hayyo, represented by the permanent Commissioner 1 of the agency Alhaji Kabiru Ahmed applauded the foresight and zeal of the foundation.

He urged other philanthropists and groups to emulate the gesture.

The occasion was graced by stakeholders in the education sector, personnel of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, and Ulama’s among others
