Ahead of the 2023 General Elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC says it will ensure the full implementation of the amendment of the 2022 electoral act.

The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu gave the assurance at the 16th Annual Leadership Lecture and Graduation Ceremony in Partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stifung Foundation in Abuja.

Professor Mahmood Yakubu who was represented by an International Observer,  Professor Mohammed Kuna, assured Nigerians of INECs readiness to put adequate measures in place to ensure free, fair and credible elections in the country.

Speaking on the topic “Leadership Election and National Development”, the Executive Director African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development Centre, Mr. Monday Osasah tasked leaders on nation building.

He also emphasized the importance of credible elections in fostering good governance 

The Programme Manager of Konrad Adenauer Stifung Foundation, Mr. Samson Adeniran, advised the graduands to deploy their skills for the betterment of the society. 

Mr. Adeniran also appealed to the electorates to vote good leaders in the forthcoming general election.
