Arewa Movement for Good Governance AM2G, has officially launched a Charter advocating for good Governance in Northern part of Nigeria and also to promote tolerance and unity among Christians and Muslims.

The Chairman of the group, Dr Usman Bugaje during the launch and presentation of a book titled ‘Principles of Leadership Snippets from Islam and Christianity in Kaduna said the current insecurity and economic dwindling among other problems facing the Northern part of the country prompted the charter to ensure unity among Muslim and Christians to fight bad governance.

Dr Bugaje noted that the main focus of the charter was to leverage on unity to demand good governance from political leaders for the socio – economic development of the region.

He stressed the need for stakeholders to work closely with religious and traditional institutions to achieve the desire objective.

Dr Usman Bugaje also called on Northerners to go back to drawing board to re-organize and reorder priorities in order to survive and thrive.

He however appealed to Northern region to use their instinct of patriotism to build a critical citizens capable of driving real and effective social, economic and political transformation.

The Executive Director, Interfaith Mediation Centre, Dr James Wuye urged religious leaders to focus on teaching unity among their adherence.

Dr James Wuye noted that, leadership is tantamount to faith, stressing that, without faith there would not be future for any nation.

He stressed that, the numerous challenges facing the northern part of the country could only be overcome through electing leaders that are capable and ready to confront challenges.

Also speaking, the Co – Executive Director, Interfaith Mediation Centre Sheikh Nursini Ashafa stressed the need for the Northerners to create avenues for dialogue and reconciliation that would facilitate confrontation of its real challenges.

The National Coordinator, Coalition of Northern Groups CNG, Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi urged Nigerians to forget religious and ethnic sentiments and vote for capable candidates who can move the country forward from the present challenges.

Comrade Charanchi maintained that, looking at the religion and ethnicity of a candidates, it would not augur well for the country .
