The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), through its Rapid Response Team, has facilitated urgent specialist medical intervention for a patient, Abba Abdullahi, whose condition required immediate surgical attention at Sir Muhammad Sunusi Specialist Hospital, Kano.
The intervention followed a directive by the Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, Dr Rahila Aliyu Muktar, as part of the agency’s efforts to ensure vulnerable residents receive timely and appropriate healthcare services.
Following the patient’s referral to the specialist hospital, medical experts promptly assessed his condition and determined that urgent surgery was required to prevent further complications.
The surgical procedure was subsequently carried out successfully by the hospital’s medical team.
Dr Rahila commended the Zonal Medical Director of Sir Muhammad Sunusi Specialist Hospital, Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu, and the hospital’s medical team for their professionalism, dedication and prompt response to the case.
She said KSCHMA would continue to strengthen its Rapid Response mechanism to ensure vulnerable residents are connected to appropriate medical services without unnecessary delays.
According to her, the intervention is in line with the healthcare priorities of the Kano State Government under the Kano First Agenda, particularly its commitment to responsive, inclusive and people-centred healthcare delivery.
Dr Rahila added that KSCHMA would continue to monitor the patient’s condition and recovery in collaboration with the hospital to support a positive treatment outcome.
The intervention, she said, further demonstrates the agency’s commitment to saving lives and improving access to quality healthcare for vulnerable residents across the state.
