Zamfara State Police Command has decorated nineteen senior Officers with their new ranks.

This was contained in a statement made available to Radio Nigeria by the image maker of the Command, SP Shehu Mohammed who noted that, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N. Elkanah performed the decorations at the Command’s headquarters in Gusau.

SP Shehu revealed that, CP Elkana, tasked the newly promoted officers to put more commitment and professionalism in the discharge of their duty, to justify the gesture done to them by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba.

The Nineteen Decorated officets were promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and substantive rank of Superintendents of Police (SPs).

According to him, the Commissioner of Police who was assisted in the decorations by his Deputies in charge of Operations, DCP Dauda Mamman and that of Finance and Administration, DCP Olugbenga Adepoju, congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to reciprocate the gesture by being alive to their responsibility.

The CP further thanked the Inspector General of Police, and the Police Service Commission for the promotion and other welfare initiative to officers and men of the Nigeria Police, these according to the CP would go a long way in boosting the morale of the personnel and enhancing their service delivery.

The decorated officers include, SP Sadiq Umar, O/C Highway Patrol; SP Sadiq Mohammed, staff officer senior (SOS); SP Babangida Abubakar, P&G OPs, among others.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of other promoted officers, SP Babangida Abubakar expressed appreciation to the IGP and Police Service Commission for the promotion, and promised to reciprocate the gesture through hard work, commitment and in line with professional ethics and international best practices.
