Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reiterated its commitment to sustained public enlightenment campaigns with stakeholders on adherence to traffic regulations.

The newly appointed Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of the Kaduna Zonal Command, ACM Abdullahi Sunusi Gamburawa, stated this during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, at his palace in Zaria.

ACM Abdullahi Sunusi said the Corps would continue to organize stakeholders’ forums in the transport sector to educate and sensitize road users on the proper use of highways and vehicles.

He noted that FRSC personnel in Zaria are working tirelessly to prevent road crashes and intensify public awareness campaigns for drivers on traffic rules and safe driving practices.

Abdullahi Gamburawa explained that his visit to the Emir was to formally introduce himself as the new Assistant Corps Marshal overseeing Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, and Jigawa States, and to seek the Emir’s blessings and fatherly support.

He also commended the Kaduna State Government and the Zazzau Emirate for their continued cooperation and support to the FRSC personnel in ensuring the smooth conduct of it’s operations.

In his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, appreciated FRSC officers in Zaria for their consistent support and co-operation with the Emirate, especially during emergencies.

The Emir expressed worry over the increasing trend of roadside trading, noting that it contributes significantly to the loss of lives and property on the nation’s highways.

He urged the FRSC to intensify public enlightenment campaigns on the importance of obeying traffic regulations and the dangers of selling goods along the roads.

Ambassador Ahmed Bamalli also congratulated ACM Abdullahi Sunusi on his new appointment and assured him of the Zazzau Emirate’s continued support and collaboration in efforts to safeguard lives and property.

The Assistant Corps Marshal was accompanied on the visit by senior FRSC officers serving in Zaria and its environs.
