Senate leadership has met with service chiefs to discuss the country’s security crisis.

The Chief of Defense Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff, DG DSS, and a representative of the National Security Adviser are all present at the meeting.

The closed-door meeting with the Service Chiefs was intended to review current security strategies and discuss new solutions.

Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan said at the commencement of the meeting that the security challenges had persisted and that the Senate hoped for a better situation.

Senator Lawan described the situation as terrifying, noting that there was nowhere to hide or flee.

Senator Lawan acknowledged the contribution of the security agencies to combat insecurity, but stressed that more can be done.
