A reknown Islamic scholar in Kano, Sheikh Muhammad Bin othman, has appealed to Nigerians to vote for credible leaders, irrespective of religious and political differences to move the country forward.

Sheikh Bin othman made the call during a sermon in Kano.

According to him, eligible voters should desist from vote buying, billot snatching and other illegal acts during the upcoming election.

The Islamic scholar explained that each and every person would be held accountable for his deeds on the day of judgement.

“The texual references are there speaking for themselves from the Qura’n and Sunnah”

He pointed out that, credibility, incorruptibility, sincerity, honesty and intergrity were some of the qualities of a good leader.

Sheikh Bin othman charged eligible voters to avoid being decieved by corrupt politicians, who will not hesitate to engage in unethical ways that will lead to the under development of the country.

The Islamic scholar said prayer was the only weapon that would guide Nigerians on who to elect as their leaders.

“Avoid being decieved by contestants to vote for them . Eligible voters are enticed with money”

He decried over rising cases of banditry and insecurity especially in the northern part of the country.

Sheikh Bin Othman described maiming, kidnapping, killing and stealing as some of the problems bedevilling the country.

He called on government to intensify efforts to mitigate societal problems, and ensure peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding between different ethnic and religious groups in the country.
