2023 Polls : Kaduna Gets Additional 2,910 Polling Units

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has confirmed the conversion of 2, 910 voting points to polling units in Kaduna State bringing a total of 8,012 polling units from 5,102 in the State.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Kaduna State Dr. Asmau Sani Maikudi stated this during a seminar organised by Development and Peace Initiative (DPI), a catholic organization in Kaduna.

Represented by Rukaiya Sani Imam, the Resident Commissioner emphasised that the State has also received its consignment of 31,688 copies of the printed Permanent Voters Cards and have started distributing them.

Dr. Asmau Sani Maikudi therefore urged all political parties to provide a level playing ground for Women, Youths, and Persons living with disability to participate fully in electoral process and be elected into political offices.

She said politics of inclusivity will ensure that every segment of the society has freedom of participation in democratic governance of the country.

Earlier, the Director of Development and Peace Initiative Reverend Father Joshua Achir explained that the event was organized to create the needed awareness for the full participation of electorates in the 2023 general election.

Father Achir appreciated the INEC for its efforts towards credible election especially the conversion of voting points to polling units across Kaduna State.
