Former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has won the All Progressives Congress, APC, primary elections with 1271 votes.
23 Aspirants bought forms to contest for the APC Presidential primary while nine of them voluntarily stepped down after signing the withdrawer form.
Eight aspirants asked their supporters to vote for Tinubu, while one asked his supporters to vote for Osinbajo.
Those who stepped down before voting began, are Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, Robert Boroffice, Ken Nnamani, Ibikunle Amosun, Dimeji Bankole, Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi and Godswill Akpabio.
They asked their supporters to vote for Tinubu, just as the only female aspirant, Mrs Uju Ken-Ohanenye, followed suit.
14 Aspirants however participated in the primary election that lasted for almost two days
A candidate, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, immediate past Minister of State for Education, was conspicuously absent at the convention.
Declaring the result, chairman of the special convention Governor of Kebbi state Atiku Bagudu stated that thirteen Void Votes were recorded
He Affirmed and Congratulated Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the winner Primary and Flag bearer of the Party in the twenty twenty three general Election
In his acceptance speech Bola Tinubu thanked all the Progressives Governor’s for standing behind him.
He also called on all those who contested with him and Nigerians irrespective of religion, tribes and Geopolitical Zones to join hands with him to move the country forward
At the end of the Convention President Muhammadu Buhari presented the Party Flag to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Cross River Governor Ben Ayade – 37 votes
Former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu – 1 vote
Rochas Okorocha – 0 vote
Ahmed Sani Yerima – 4 votes
Tein Jack Rich – 0 vote
Ikeobasi Mokelu – 0 vote
Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba – 1 vote
David Umahi, Governor of Ebonyi State secured – 38 votes
Pastor Tunde Bakare got – 0 vote
Senator Ahmed Rufai Sani – 4 votes
Rotimi Amaechi – 316 votes
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo – 235 Votes
Bola Tinubu – 1271 votes
