Jigawa state government is to employ additional two thousand J-Teach teachers in the state.

The state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Comrade Abdulkadir Yunusa Jigawa disclosed this to newsmen in Dutse.

He said the measure was aimed at replacing the teachers who were retired from service and improving the teaching and learning process.

Comrade Abdulkadir Yunusa said Governor Badaru Abubakar had assured to convert 400 to 800 J-Teach teachers to permanent staff.

He said BESDA had employed some teachers in the state while the state government mapped out policies aimed at improving the teaching and learning process.

According to him, 900 teachers retired from the service this year.

The NUT Chairman said the state government had done a lot on rehabilitation, construction of classes and laboratories as well as purchasing of teaching and learning materials.

He added that the Union would plant one thousand trees in schools across the state.
