Kaduna State Government has inaugurated members of the State Religious preaching Regulatory Council to determine those that qualify for Islamic and Christianity preaching.

While Inaugurating members of the Council at government house kaduna, governor Nasiru Elrufai said the state government would support them to carry out their assignment effectively.

Malam Elrufai explained that, part of the mandate of the Council was to ensure that, leaders of faith and those preaching do not set people against each other in communities.

He said the state now have a religious preaching law, stressing that, the state government was determined to do it best to help stamp out the poison from the negative practices of religion.

The governor thanked all members of the Council for agreeing to serve on the difficult and sensitive assignment, saying that most of the people of Kaduna State are very religious like other Nigerians.

According to him, Kaduna State is unfortunately one of the state in the country with the sad history of religious clashes.

In a remark, the chairman of the Council, the Madakin Zazzau, Alhaji Munnir Jafaru assured the governor that, members of the Council would carry out their job without fear or favour.

Alhaji Jafaru also pledged that, they would not allow their personal interest or religious interest to stop them from doing what is right.
