Federal Government has been advised to as a matter of urgency establish a military base on the border between Shiroro local government council of Niger state and Kaduna state for prompt response to any security threat.

A member of the National Assembly representing Niger East Senatorial district from Niger state Senator Sani Musa gave the advice in a statement issued to Newsmen in Minna.

Senator Sani Musa said this had became imperative to enable his people who no longer go about their normal farming businesses because of activities of bandits return to farm.

According to him there is the need for a coordinated approach by all strata of government to bring an end to daily loss of lives and properties in parts of the country.

He however lamented that in the last couple of months about three thousand people have been displaced by armed bandits in Shiroro local government council of Niger state now taken refuge in IDP camps.

The law maker also condemned in strong terms recent massacre by bandits of peace loving villagers of some communities in Shiroro local government council in which about twenty people where slaughtered in cold blood.

Alh Sani Musa explained that the incident took place in a broad daylight last week which he described as un acceptable that requires urgent steps to address such challenges.

He however maintained that defeating banditry in Nigeria requires collective efforts by all and sundry.
