In its effort to curb the activities of criminal elements, Kaduna State Command has engaged ten bandits in a gun battle who blocked Kaduna to Birnin Gwari road in their attempt to kidnap five passengers of a vehicle, heading to Birnin Gwari from Kaduna.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Command’s Spokesperson ASP Mohammed Jalige in Kaduna.

ASP Mohammed Jalige explained that the gun duel successfully repelled the bandits who scampered into the forest with various degrees of bullet wounds, while all the rescued passengers have been re-united with their families, and effort was on to ensure the fleeing bandits are apprehended.

In another development, the command in its continued onslaught against criminals recorded another feat in a combined operation with operatives from Abuja, trailed some suspected bandits and intercepted a Toyota highlander car around Saminaka forest of Lere LGA.

The Spokesperson maintained that operatives succeeded in injuring two suspects and recovered eight rifles, one beretta pistol, eleven AK47 magazines and fifty rounds of live ammunition.

ASP Mohammed Jalige added that the suspects were rushed to the hospital where one was confirmed dead, and the remaining suspect confessed to transporting arms and ammunitions to bandits in Niger, Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara States.
