A Civil Society Organization, House of Justice has Commissioned a school for Internally Displaced persons ,IDPs with a call to Federal and State Governments to fast track action towards resettling them in line with international convention.
Chairperson of the organization, Gloria Ballason who stated this at the commissioning in Gonin Gora, Kaduna said international conventions require IDPs to stay in Camps for only three months.
Ms Ballason said the organization launched a one hundred million naira fund last year December to raise support for internally Displaced persons in Chikun, Kajuru and Zango Kataf Local Government Areas and has since began implementing projects at the sites.
She expressed concerned over the plight of children of school age at the camps stressing that the commissioned projects which include six classrooms and two entrepreneurship centres will help in addressing the challenges.
In a message, former president of HEKAN Denomination, Reverend Emmanuel Dziggau urged the displaced persons not to give up on their ancestral lands but trust on God and the government to provide security and conducive environment for them to return back to their home.
Speaking on the security challenges facing the country, National President, Southern Kaduna People’s Union, Mr Jonathan Asake appealed to governments step up efforts in discharging its constitutional responsibilty of providing adequate security for citizens.
