Federal Fire Service has called for synergy with the Nigeria Union of Journalists-NUJ in enlightening and educating the public on the dangers of fire disaster.

The Comptroller, Federal Fire Service, Kebbi State Command, Maidawa Kanya, made the appeal when he led officers of the Command on a courtesy visit to NUJ Kebbi State Council.

He described the media as a critical stakeholders where partnering with it would make successes in discharging the agency’s responsibility as fire fighter and live servers.

He revealed that, apart from fire fighting, the agency has a special unit called Investigation, Inspection and Enforcement Unit (IIE) vested with the responsibility of conducting fire risk assessment on public and private buildings.

Maidawa advised people to avoid stoning of their personnel while discharging their duty.

He thanked the State Government for providing the agency with befitting office accommodation in the State Capital.

Responding, the State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kebbi State Council, Comrade Aliyu Jajirma, assured the support of the Union to the Federal Fire Service in enlightening and educating the public on their services to the state.
