Jigawa State and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme has paid over #4.4bn as monthly pension to 11,276 state , local governments and local Education Authority pensioners last year.

Executive Secretary of the scheme, Alhaji Hashim Ahmed Fagam made this known in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Dutse.

He explained that the amount include #2.3bn paid to 5,386 state pensioners, #614mn to 2,158 local govts pensioners and #1.5bn paid to 3,734 local education authority pensioners.

Alhaji Hashim Ahmed Fagam said #7.5bn was paid as terminal benefit to 3,643 state, local government and local education authority  staff this out going year.

According to him, out of the amount, over #3bn was paid as terminal benefit to state civil servants, #1.1bn to 750 local govt staff and 1,571 local education authority staff.

The Executive secretary commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for financial and morale support to the scheme at all times.
