Zamfara To Spend Over #70m On Reconstruction Of Bridges, Roads, Others

Reconstruction of Access Road Project at 1Brigade Barack Gusau

Zamfara State Government has earmarked over N700 million for the reconstruction of broken down bridges, culverts and provisions of access road to Army Cantonment Primary School Gusau.

The State Commissioner, Ministry for Rural Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Gubin Bore, announced this while flagging off the construction of an access road to a primary school in 1Brigade Army Barracks, Gusau.

Alhaji Abdullahi Gurbin Bore said the road, which was about 500 metres, would help both students and teachers as well as visitors to have easy access to the school when completed.

He added that the project was direct labour and assured people of the barracks of speedy and timely completion of the road project to encourage effective teaching and learning.

Durbin Bore also explained that Governor Bello Matawalle had directed the Ministry to carry out some repairs and reconstruction of some bridges and culverts which collapsed following heavy rainfall through direct labour.

The Commissioner listed some of the bridges affected to include Bardok i- Gayari, in Gumi Local Government, Gurusu – Nasarawar Burkullu, in Bukkuyum Local Government, Ruwan Gora in Talata Mafara Local government while Tofa – Maigangare to Dansadau in Maru Local Government areas.

According to him, the work will not take time due to the importance attached to it adding that, reconstructing such bridges will make it easier for people to access their communities and transport farm and market products.

He called on the people of the state to always channels their complain to the appropriate authorities for prompt and necessary action as all these projects came as a result of complain from various communities including that of the Nigeria Army.

Abdullahi Gurbin Bore also advised people to always support government policies and programs aimed at alleviating their sufferings as cardinal principles of Governor Bello Matawalle and to have maintainace culture.
