The Kano State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the death of Ibrahim Khalil Danshagamu of Gaida Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement issued in Kano.

He said the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Monday, September 8, when the Command received a distress call from the Commander of Gaida Vigilante Group that unknown hoodlums had forcefully entered the deceased’s residence and attacked him with sharp objects.

Kiyawa said operatives of Kumbotso Police Division responded immediately and rushed the victim to Murtala Muhammad Specialists Hospital, Kano, where he was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.

He said the suspects were arrested following an intelligence-driven operation conducted by the Kumbotso Police Division, in collaboration with tactical units and community stakeholders, on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

The PPRO said the suspects were currently in police custody undergoing interrogation, while investigation and forensic procedures were ongoing to establish the motive and identify other persons connected with the crime.

He quoted the Commissioner of Police as assuring residents that the Command would not relent in protecting lives and property, adding that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.

Kiyawa also commended the Gaida Vigilante Group for providing timely information that facilitated the swift police response, and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide credible information to the Police.
