The Kaduna State Police Command, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, has dismantled suspected bandit hideouts during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.

The operation, conducted on Saturday was aimed at denying bandits freedom of movement and disrupting their activities in the area.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the operation followed credible intelligence provided by members of the local community.

He said security operatives raided suspected bandit enclaves around the Durum and Danguzuri general areas, extending towards the boundary with Kano State.

During the operation, two structures allegedly used by bandits as hideouts for holding abducted victims were identified and dismantled at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.

The Command said joint security patrols remain ongoing in the area, adding that normalcy has been restored and the general area is currently calm.

The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Rabiu Muhammad commended residents for their cooperation and praised the security operatives for their gallantry.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining its offensive against banditry and other forms of criminality across the state.
