The PTDF Professorial Endowment Chair in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, has commenced a four-day Computational Catalysis Workshop aimed at strengthening capacity in advanced computational techniques for catalysis research.
The workshop brings together academics, researchers, and students to explore innovative computational tools that are transforming research in catalysis, chemical engineering, and energy transition studies as a commitment to advancing research and innovation in Nigeria’s energy sector.
Executive Secretary of the PTDF, Prof. Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was represented by the General Manager, Education and Training Department, Mrs. Rabi’ah Waziri-Adamu re-affirmed the Agency’s commitment to driving impactful research, capacity development, and knowledge sharing through the Endowment Chair Programme.
Also speaking, Vice Chancellor of the ABU, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor(Administration), Prof. Bello Sabo, emphasized that indigenous knowledge and local expertise remain the foundation of sustainable national development and technological advancement.
The workshop underscores PTDF’s sustained investment in developing the human capital and research capabilities required to drive innovation, scientific excellence and sustainable growth within Nigeria’s energy sector.
