The Peoples Democratic Party PDP in nasarawa state has declared Dr. Emmanuel Ombugadu as its gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 general election.

 

The chairman of the state party governorship primary election committee Abdulmaleek Danga who disclosed this in lafia, the state capital, said Dr. Emmanuel Ombugadu emerged through the consensus method.

 

According to him, the process is peaceful, free, fair, and credible, adding that Emmanuel Ombugadu is now the party’s flag-bearer at the conclusion of the exercise.

 

“I am directed to affirmed Dr. Emmanuel Ombugadu as the nasarawa state 2027 PDP gubernatorial candidate as party members have choosed him through consensus method,” Danga said.

He commended the party members, stakeholders and supporters for showing maturity, unity and commitment, before, during and after the process.

 

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Emmanuel Ombugadu, said the process followed wider consultations with party members and stakeholders, including the national leaders led by Mr. Nyeson Wike and the state working committee.

 

He thanked the party members and delegates for accepting his status from the aspirant to candidate through their support and affirmation.

 

“But by your support, by your endorsement, by this affirmation, you have converted our status to a candidate. I want to say thank you very much,” he said.

 

“If you permit me, we are going straight to the work. I will start work because we don’t have time,’ he said……..”

 

Dr. Emmanuel Ombugadu at the occasion re-introduce his 2023 running mate, Yahaya Ohinoyi as his 2027 running mate, describing him as the deputy governor-in-waiting, while calling the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to take note of his nomination by the party.

 

He thanked the INEC officials present and urged the PDP supporters to remain steadfast, united and mobilize more support to enable them succeed at the next years general election.
