Kano State Government has concluded plans to train one thousand youths on life-enhancing and self-reliance skills aimed at promoting personal growth and societal development.
The State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya, disclosed this during a visit to the Kano State Corporate Security Institute in Gabasawa to inspect facilities.

According to the commissioner, the initiative is targeted at youths who have embraced the Safe Corridor initiative earlier introduced by the state government as part of efforts to reform and improve the lives of young people.
Waiya stated that the Kano State Government remains committed to tackling thuggery and curbing political violence across the state.
He revealed that about N600 million has been earmarked for programmes focused on youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and social stability.
In a remark the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, represented by the Sarkin Shanun Kano, Shehu Muhammad, commended the state government for its commitment to promoting peace and social harmony in the State.
Also speaking during the visit, prominent Kano businessman Alhaji Sabi’u Bako praised the government for prioritizing youth development, noting that the initiative would help reduce youth restiveness and strengthen peaceful coexistence in the state.
He further pledged to mobilize Kano business leaders to support the programme in order to ensure sustainable peace and development.
The visit was attended by representatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and other relevant stakeholders.
