The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has commended a philanthropist, Malam Magaji Umar Dan Aljanna, for sponsoring the construction of a modern conference hall at its Zaria station in Kaduna State.

The Kaduna State Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Deputy Controller of Fire (DCF) Aminu Amadu, gave the commendation at the foundation-laying ceremony for the project in Zaria.

DCF Amadu said interventions from residents, particularly philanthropists, had contributed significantly to the Service’s efforts to prevent and control fire outbreaks and respond effectively to emergencies.

He said such support had enabled the Fire Service to protect lives and property worth millions of naira from destruction.

The Controller called on wealthy individuals, politicians and other members of the public to emulate the gesture by providing the Service with equipment and other resources needed to effectively discharge its responsibilities.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engineer Jamilu Ahmad Muhammad, commended the Federal Fire Service for its commitment to protecting lives and property in Zaria and neighbouring communities.

He assured that the council, in collaboration with residents, would continue to support the Service with modern equipment to enhance its operations.

Representing the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Garkuwan Ayyukan Zazzau, Engineer Balarabe Musa, appreciated Dan Aljanna for undertaking the project.

He also urged wealthy individuals and members of the community to emulate the philanthropist by supporting institutions responsible for protecting lives and property.

Speaking on the project, Malam Magaji Umar Dan Aljanna said he sponsored the construction of the conference hall to strengthen the Fire Service and boost the morale of its personnel.

He said the gesture was motivated by the crucial role firefighters play in protecting lives and property from fire outbreaks and other emergencies.

Dan Aljanna urged firefighters to sustain their commitment and dedication to protecting communities, while appealing to members of the public to support the Service with equipment and other resources.

The foundation-laying ceremony, held at the Federal Fire Service station in Zaria, was attended by senior security officials, traditional rulers, community leaders and other members of the public.
