The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Kaduna State Chapter, has condemned cattle rustling, banditry, kidnapping, killings and all forms of criminality in the state.

Chairman of the association in Kaduna State, Alhaji AbdulHamid Musa, stated this while presenting the association’s position on the security challenges affecting livestock owners and pastoral communities across the state.

He said anyone found stealing livestock, killing innocent people, kidnapping citizens or engaging in any other criminal activity should be identified and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Alhaji AbdulHamid Musa, however, urged security agencies and other authorities not to collectively profile innocent livestock owners and law-abiding pastoral families because of the activities of criminals.

He stressed that security was a collective responsibility and that justice should be applied fairly to all citizens.

The MACBAN chairman called on security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering and community engagement, particularly in rural areas, to enable them to identify emerging security threats and dismantle criminal networks.

He also urged the Kaduna State Government to strengthen collaboration with Local Government Councils, traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders in gathering and sharing timely security information.

According to him, local intelligence remains critical to preventing criminal activities before they escalate.

Alhaji AbdulHamid Musa said MACBAN Kaduna was prepared to cooperate fully with government and security institutions in efforts to identify and dismantle criminal networks across the state.

He also appealed for stronger collaboration between farmers and pastoralists through dialogue and peaceful coexistence.

He said MACBAN was ready to work with government, farmers’ organisations, traditional institutions and security agencies towards finding sustainable solutions to security challenges and promoting peace among communities.
