The All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully concluded its primary elections for federal constituencies in Zamfara State, announcing winners across all seven constituencies in a process the party described as peaceful, transparent, and in line with established electoral guidelines.

Chairman of the party’s National Assembly Primary Election Committee in the state, Dr Bello Maigari disclosed the results at a press briefing, noting that the exercise followed due process from the ward, local government and state levels.

According to him, elections were successfully conducted across the state’s 14 local government areas, producing candidates for the seven federal constituencies.

In Bakura/Maradun Federal Constituency, Mohammed Ahmad Sani emerged winner after polling 34,282 votes to defeat his opponent.

For Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, Aminu Sani Jaji secured victory with a total of 37,064 votes, defeating two other contestants.

In Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency, Kabiru Amadu clinched the ticket with 85,723 votes, emerging winner among six aspirants.

Similarly, Suleiman Abubakar was declared winner for Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency after scoring 39,299 votes, defeating his closest rival who polled 10 votes.

In Shinkafi/Zurmi Federal Constituency, Bello Hassan emerged unopposed, securing 23,007 votes to affirm his candidacy.

For Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency, Abdulmalik Zubairu also ran unopposed and was declared winner with 46,077 votes.

Meanwhile, in Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency, Isa Muhammad Anka emerged victorious with 35,189 votes, defeating two other contestants.

The committee expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the primaries, describing the exercise as peaceful and in line with electoral guidelines and best democratic practices.

“We are satisfied with the outcome. The elections were conducted in an orderly manner, and the results reflect the will of party members,” the chairman stated.

He congratulated all the successful candidates and commended party members for maintaining decorum throughout the process.

The committee also noted that aspirants dissatisfied with the outcome have the opportunity to seek redress through the party’s appeal committee, which is scheduled to begin sitting by 10 a.m. the following day.

He reaffirmed APC commitment to internal democracy, stressing that the smooth conduct of the primaries demonstrates the party’s readiness for upcoming elections.
