Northern state Governor’s have been advised to adopt the Niger state government model in addressing the problems of farmer herder clashes in the region to fastrack it’s speedy development.
National President Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria MACBAN, Dr Baba Usman Ngelzarman gave the advice at a special gathering to honor and confirmed the traditional titles to two imminent Fulani’s in Niger state held at the palace of Emir of Minna.
Dr Baba Usman Ngelzarman explained that the method adopted by Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State has been yielding positive results, thereby reducing to the nearest minimal cases of farmer herder clashes in the state.
According to him this had translated into the promotion of mutual understanding and respect for one another leading an increase in the revenue base of the state and Nigeria at large.
The Emir of Minna Dr Umar Faruk Bahago, stressed the need for traditional title holders in his domain to always discharge their duties with the fear of Allah by being fair and just to all manner of people to succeed.
In his remarks the new Jauro Minna and Niger state Commissioner of Nomadic and Pastoral Affairs, Umar Ahmed Rebe promised to redouble his efforts in further improving the relationship between the farmers and herders that has been cordial to a more peaceful and prosperous one to achieve maximum results.
The Wakilin Fulani Minna, Alh Hassan Usman Shiroro had earlier appealed to Fulani’s in Niger state to continue to leave in peace with another to to enhance rapid development of Niger state, stressing that peace is the prerequisite for any meaningful development.
