A late night Inferno has destroyed properties worth N56.8million naira at a filling station on Sobi Specialist Hospital road,Ilorin, Kwara state.

In a statement, the spokesman of the Kwara state Fire service, Hassan Adekunle said the incident occurred when a tanker discharging fuel exploded.

According to the statement, when the Brigade arrived at the scene of the incident, the ravaging fire had engulfed the whole tanker due to the terrible nature of the incident.

The statement says the firemen were able to put out the fire on time as well as preventing the burning tanker from affecting other buildings in the area.

In his remark, the Director Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade Olumuyiwa advised filling stations owners to procure and install necessary safety equipments.
