The Gwarzo Local Government Council in Kano State has distributed 20,243 school uniforms to pupils in primary schools across the area.
The distribution was carried out at the Gwarzo Local Education Authority (LEA) as part of efforts to support primary education and improve the learning environment.
Representing the Council Chairman, Dr. Mani Tsoho Gwarzo, the Speaker of the Gwarzo Local Government Council, Ahmad Shehu, said providing pupils with essential learning materials would encourage them to pursue their education in a conducive environment.
The Education Secretary of the area, Ashiru Lawan, said school uniforms promote discipline, cleanliness and dignity among pupils, while also creating a sense of belonging in schools.
The District Head of Gwarzo, Alhaji Bello Abubakar, commended the Kano State Government and the local government council for the initiative, describing it as a significant contribution to education.
The 20,243 uniforms were handed over to head teachers for onward distribution to eligible pupils in primary schools across the local government area.

Some beneficiaries, including Ismail Sani Ismail and Fatima Muhammad of Gwarzo Model Science School, appreciated the gesture and pledged to make proper use of the uniforms and remain committed to their studies.
A total of 191 primary schools are expected to benefit from the distribution across Gwarzo Local Government Area.
