Jigawa state government says over four thousand farmers will benefit from COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Program NG-CARES across the twenty seven local government areas of the state.

The State Coordinator Fadama III project, Alhaji Aminu Isah Ringim stated this at the flagg off of the community based procurement training to farmers held in Hadejia, Kazaure and Dutse local government areas.

According to him, the programme was aimed at reducing the hardship they have gone through as a result of the covid-19 pandemic.

Alhaji Aminu Isah Ringim further explained that, the NG-CARES programme is aimed at  expanding access to livelihood support and food security services, grants for poor and vulnerable households as well as firms.

He pointed out that, the federal government and World Bank in collaboration with Jigawa state government have budgeted about eight billion naira for the implementation of the programme in the state.

The Fadama Boss said under result area ll which is agriculture, about 17,000 farmers are expected to benefit from the programme.
