Kaduna State Government says so far Eight bodies have been recovered while 26 persons are injured during the Abuja – Kaduna rail line attack.

A Statement by the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan explains that the state government has received a detailed passenger manifest for the Abuja-Kaduna train service from the Nigerian Railway Corporation over the attack.

According to the statement, the documents received show, 398 passengers bought tickets for the trip, while 362 are being validated as having boarded the train through the recognized turnstile.

It says the passenger manifest does not include Nigerian Railway Corporation staff and security officials who are also on board.

“Furthermore, security agencies have reported that eight bodies were recovered and 26 persons injured during the attack”

The statement explains that investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the status of the passengers who boarded the train and remain unaccounted for at the time of this update.

It advises Citizens to contact Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency SEMA on the phone line: 09088923398, to make enquiries or provide information regarding passengers who are on board the Abuja-Kaduna train AK9.
